It’s time to meet your 2023/24 Student Officer Team and NUS Delegates! After a busy campaigning week for candidates and their campaign teams, the students have spoken and your new leaders have been chosen!  

2943 students turned out to vote and made their voice heard by casting 11,685 votes overall. Voter turnout in each role is the highest we have seen since at least 2010!!! Check out the voting stats here: www.leedsbeckettsu.co.uk/voting-stats.

This year, 42 students put themselves forward to run for a leadership position. That's amazing! Of those:

• 24 were women
• 5 identified as LGBT+
• 39 identified as belonging to the Global Majority
• 37 candidates were international students
• 38 were mature students
• 2 candidates identified as disabled
• 3 candidates were parents or carers

That's amazing! We want to say a massive congratulations to each and every one of this year’s candidates for their hard work during a very busy election. You've done such a great job! We also want to say thank you to everyone who voted, encouraged others to vote, or got involved in the campaigning to support candidates.

We use a voting system called single transferable vote. It means voters get a bit more of a say, by ranking candidates from most to least favourable.
