There are so many societies out there from course-based to hobby based to religious to political and campaigning. We genuinely believe there is a society for you! Why Join?

Joining a society can be scary but it can also be the best thing you ever did at uni. Joining a society gives you the opportunity to:

  • To make new friends – societies are a great way to meet new friends and friends that can last a life time.
  • To make change in your community and world – being part of a society gives you the ability to help make change in your community or world. Whether this by volunteering at a local event, hosting a fundraiser or starting a petition a society gives you the ability to be part of the change.
  • Enhance your CV – societies provide the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and improve existing ones.
  • Try something new – is there something you’ve always wanted try? Joining a society gives you the chance to experience something new and exciting.
  • To have fun – the most important thing is to enjoy your time at University. Joining a society can help you have fun, relax and get away from all the stresses of University.

What if there isn’t a society for me?

We feel there should a be a society for everyone. So, if you have identified a society that doesn’t fit you why not make one? All you need to do is have yourself plus two like-minded people to form a committee and go over to our website to get started.
